Avs ink Yip for two years

07/07/2010 - Denver, CO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Colorado Avalanche signed forward Brandon Yip to a two-year contract on Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the club, but the Denver Post reports that it is worth $1.45 million for the duration.

The 25-year-old finished his rookie campaign, stunted due to a hand injury suffered during a preseason game, with 11 goals and 19 points in 32 games for the Avs.

An eighth-round pick of Colorado in the 2004 draft, Yip spent four years at Boston University from 2005-09, winning a national title in his senior season after scoring 20 goals with 43 points in 45 games.

In addition, the Avs signed minor-league forward Ben Walter to a one-year deal.
